Wow! The school year is winding down to one more week of school! Next year I will be heading off to high school. So I have some advice for incoming students and returning students! Always try your hardest, teach your partner everything you can, and have fun!

Trying your hardest is the best you can do in media. I suggest that everybody sleeps, eats, and breathes by the motto " Don't just be good be great". When doing projects things can get very stressful. Trust me, I know from experience. But if you get a little worked up and get tired of all of the work, don't slack off and become lazy. Laziness can turn into a bad habit. Trying your hardest also pays off. When you do your best and give 110% effort, you are sure to create quality work.

This part of advice goes to all returning students who have to be the mentor and teach their partner everything about being in the class. You definitely have to teach your partner things to be a newbie but you also have to teach them things about being a returnee and how they have to be a mentor the next year. I would also suggest trying to let your partner do most of the work, not because you don't have to do a lot of work, but so they know what to do and learn. I'm a hands on learner and it's very hard for me to learn by just watching. Letting your partner do most of the work will prepare them for when they have to work on their own.

Media is lots of work and takes lots of hard work, determination, and dedication. But most of all just have fun. We are all one big Ohana that you can count on. Just know the difference when it's time to work and when it's time to play. When it's time to work, work hard and when it's time to play, play hard. I wish I could be in CKTV next year too, but sadly I can't. I can say that I have had such an awesome experience in this class and have made so many memories. I came into his class without a clue of what I was doing and now I love media and want to pursue it in the future. So keep an open mind and have fun!

I hope this advice will help you in media because it sure helped me. There are many other tips that I have besides these three mentioned before. Always try your hardest, teach your partner everything you can, have fun and you should be able to survive media!

For the 8th grade luncheon at the end of the year, we play a slideshow of all of the pictures of eighth graders throughout the year. The slideshow is about 10-12 minutes long with 4 or 5 different songs. We wanted to change it up this year and put a little twist into the slideshow. Unfortunately I can't tell you what it is because it's top secret. But as far as progress goes, we are done with the slideshow part and just have touch up a few little things. Hopefully all of the eighth graders and teachers will enjoy it!

We only have less than two weeks of school left! That means that our final projects are due soon. Our deadline is next Wednesday and I think I am prepared to turn my video on time. With the school year ending so quickly in the blink of an eye, I have managed to stay on track this quarter.

My video is different from everyone's music videos, short films, movie trailers, and commercials. To show that there is more out there than those subjects, I made a "Songs in Real Life" video. In this type of video, people use song lyrics in their conversations. My video is about a bad memory that Lindsey has about a time when she filmed. It goes terrible while filming and she decides to tell the story to her friend, Jenny.

I filmed about three weeks ago and have already edited the scenes from that day. I also filmed today and just imported it. The scenes that I shot today were very short so it will be easy to edit into my video. I know that we were supposed to be done filming last week but that's okay because I got it done! I am now done filming! Whew...

My video has two parts to it, Lindsey telling the story and the memory of the story. The majority of the video is the memory which is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The part where Lindsey is telling the story about 30 seconds. So in total my video is about 3 minutes. And I have most of it edited and done. I mostly have to add in some clips and do some finishing touches.

I am on track to meet my deadline and finish the school year strong! I am done filming and have to edit a little bit more. Other than that, I'm good to go! With hard work and effort in this short amount of time before the deadline I know I can make it!

This week was very bitter sweet because it was my very last time doing the Inside Scoop! Sometimes it can be a little frustrating to have lots of work piled on top of more work but it's worth it in the end. I have transformed from sixth grade till now considering that I have become much better at speaking. If you heard me before, my "radio voice" was very boring and quiet but after lots and lots of practice, I gained more confidence in myself and speak more clear and enthusiastic. I'm sad that my inside scoops have come to an end, but that doesn't mean I can't still use my radio voice!

The school year is almost over and that means that Family Night is coming up! Family Night is when everyone in the class shares one video that they made in the school year! We get to eat yummy food and show our family and the new incoming students how hard we worked. For Family Night, I want to show the video that Brandon, Kaden, and I made at STN.

I want to show our Spot Feature because it won first place at STN which is nationwide. It means a lot to me because I have come so far, from not winning anything to getting third place and then getting first place. It's amazing to see how far I have come throughout the years. Just knowing that all of our hard work paid off is such a great feeling.

When I introduce my video, I will say that Brandon and Kaden were also on the spot feature team where we had 5 hours to create a video about someone's story that matched the topic. And then I will mention that it won first place nationwide. If that part of the speech is really short, then I'll explain how we found Kristen after talking to so many people before hand.

We worked very hard before STN and at STN. So I hope people will enjoy watching our video! Receiving an award at STN has been a great honor and I still can't believe that a small little island in the pacific can do so much.

At Family Night I will be showing Brandon, Kaden and I's spot feature video that we made at STN. I will give Brandon and Kaden credit and explain what we had to do during the competition. Hopefully people will enjoy the video and learn a little bit about what we did at STN.

I have really enjoyed being in media for three years. I have learned so much and have experienced so many different things. I wasn't sure what I was going to do without it in High School so I signed up for the media class at Kauai High. My counselor recently spoke to me and said that it wasn't possible to have my first choice as an elective. When I grow up, I want to be in arts and communications so it's very important to keep up being involved in media. So, we are doing everything we can to make sure that I get into media. What would I do without it?

I'm pretty sure that all of us are excited for summer break and for the school year to be over. But, it is not time yet to check out from school. We still have a month left and we need to finish stronger than when we started in the beginning of the year. If we work hard now, we can have lots of fun later in the summer. So, to make sure I don't slack off I am going to set some goals for the end of this school year.

It is very easy for me to get distracted these days with social media and games. I usually watch a show before I get to my blogs or spend lots of time on Instagram before I do my other homework. So, I will start doing my homework first instead of doing "useless" stuff like social media. If I do this, I won't be rushing the night before it's due and have weekends where I don't need to do homework.

I am also going to put lots of effort into my work and do my best. Even though it's my third year at Chiefess and I want the year to be over with. I still have to produce my best work! When I try my hardest, I can make some great projects but when I slack off my work is not as good. To finish the year strong, I will put my best effort into everything!

Lastly, to finish the school year strong I am going to stay organized and be on task. Organization is very important so you know where things are at. I would say that my binder is pretty organized but my schedule isn't. During classes, I have been working on the 8th grade slideshow more than my 4th quarter project. So I am going to be aware of how much time I spend on certain things. For now, radios are my priority.

I can't wait till it's summer time! But for now, I am going to finish this year strong by not getting distracted, doing my best, and being organized. It's not time to check out yet, we have less than 20 school day left!

Today I filmed my fourth quarter project, "Songs in Real Life". Halia, Melanie, Lindsey, and Halle acted in my video, Lindsey was the director in the video and Halia, Mel, and Halle were the actors. It went pretty well but it was hard to keep everybody on task and not get distracted so easily. While filming, I kept on mind all of the things that I have learned over the years to create a project that displays it all. I did most of my filming, I just have to get one more scene and then I'm done filming. I will start editing as soon as we get back to school to finish my project on time.

CKTV is very fortunate to have great support from the community. When it comes to our videos, fundraisers, and support, our community is very generous to us. Without them, our class wouldn't be where it's at today. So, it would be a great idea to give back to the community.

Community Service is a great thing to do because you get to help others more than yourself which could change your life and also the lives of others. I think that it would be awesome for CKTV to give back to the community. Although our schedules are jam packed with projects, fundraising, practices, and other things not involving the class. I think there's always time to set aside to do community service.

There are many things that we can do as a class as part of community service. I think we should do certain things based on what time of year it is. For example if it was near thanksgiving, we would serve at the soup kitchen. Or if it was Christmas time, we could collect presents for the homeless. We could also reach out to those sick in the hospital. It would probably make them feel a lot happier of we sang carols to them or played some card games. So I think we should do a variety of community services.

Like I mentioned before, we are very very busy people who have a lot on our hands. I would love to do community service more often but, I know that would be difficult with our schedules. So I think that we should do community service every quarter. We could maybe even do community service during the summer because community service doesn't stop when the school year does!

In conclusion, I think that community service is a great idea to give back to our community. We are very fortunate to have such great support, it is incredible. Even the simplest community service projects could make a huge impact on our class and in the community. We should definitely do community service. And consider doing it every quarter based on what time of the year it is.

It is that time again! Radios! Taylynn and I have started writing our Radio scripts so we can turn it in on time. Taylynn is leaving on a trip so I had her write a script so that I wouldn't be piled up with writing three scripts. So we are pretty much finished with Friday. All I have to do is write some of Wednesday and Monday. And obviously revise, record, and edit them too. We are on track to getting our radios done on time!
